What Is Styx: Blades of Greed?

Styx: Blades of Greed is a stealth-action adventure built around pure infiltration and tactical movement.
Instead of charging into fights, you play as Styx — a fragile but brilliant goblin thief — who wins by
stalking patrol routes, exploiting vertical level design, using tricks and gadgets, and choosing the cleanest route to your objective.

It continues the spirit of the previous Styx games: stealth first, humor dark and cynical, and levels designed like playgrounds
where smart positioning beats brute force.

Story & Setting

Styx is back chasing profit and survival in a world full of conflict and rival powers. The central hook is his obsession with
Quartz—a mysterious resource tied to dangerous experimentation and escalating tension across factions.

Gameplay Overview

The main rule: stay hidden. Styx is not built for fair fights. Success comes from patience, observation, and creativity—
using stealth takedowns, distractions, traversal, and smart use of abilities.

Core Stealth Loop

• Scout the area: watch patrol routes, light sources, and guard behaviors.
• Plan your path: choose rooftop routes, vents, ledges, crawl spaces, and shadow pockets.
• Execute silently: distract, isolate, knock out, or slip by without triggering alerts.
• Escape: reposition quickly when things go wrong—improvisation is part of the fun.

Traversal & Verticality

Levels are designed to reward climbing and clever navigation. Expect lots of vertical routes: beams, balconies, chimneys, rooftops,
hidden ledges, and alternate entrances that make you feel like a goblin parkour specialist.

Tools, Tricks & Quartz Powers

You’re encouraged to mix abilities and gadgets to create openings—whether that means distractions, mobility upgrades,
stealth enhancements, or emergency escapes when a patrol spots you.

Combat: Last Resort, Not the Plan

Combat exists, but the game strongly pushes you to avoid it. Styx is fragile and can be overwhelmed quickly in open fights.
If you’re forced into combat, you’ll typically rely on hit-and-run tactics, quick eliminations, and retreating back into cover.

In short: if you’re fighting for long, something already went wrong—use stealth to reset the situation.

World & Level Design

The world is built around large, interconnected spaces that feel like stealth sandboxes. You’ll often have multiple ways to reach the same target:
high routes, low routes, risky shortcuts, or careful paths that take longer but keep you safe.
