Setting & Premise
In Laysara: Summit Kingdom, an enigmatic mist has overtaken the lowlands, forcing humanity to migrate upward into harsh mountainous terrain. Your task is to:
Build and expand multiple settlements on unique mountains.
Manage resources and logistical networks across steep slopes.
Support a three-caste society and keep them fed, happy, and productive.
Face natural mountain hazards, most notably avalanches.
Core Gameplay Mechanics
Mountain City Construction
Unlike most city builders set on flat plains, Laysara places you on steep, rugged mountainsides. Every mountain offers unique terrain shapes, vegetation zones, and resource distributions that must be carefully navigated when expanding your settlement.
Three-Caste Social System
Your population is divided into three groups:
Lowland workers – handle basic food and livestock tasks.
Artisans – craft tools and advanced goods.
Monks – contribute to spiritual and technological growth.
Managing the balance and needs of these castes is key to development.
Resource & Transport Networks
The steep terrain means transporting materials is non-trivial. You’ll build:
Roads, bridges, and vertical transport shafts.
Carrier systems to deliver goods across cliffs and canyons.
Inter-settlement trade networks.
Mountain Hazards – Avalanches & Weather
Avalanches are an ever-present danger. You cannot stop them, but you can mitigate their impact by:
Planting forests to act as natural barriers.
Building defensive structures.
Strategically triggering smaller avalanches to protect settlements.
Summit Goals & Temple
The ultimate goal isn’t just survival — you must reach the mountain peak and erect a Summit Temple, which requires:
Significant resource gathering.
Efficient logistics.
Mastery of weather-related challenges.
Modes of Play
Standard Mode:
Choose mountains with different traits and aim to grow your settlement into a thriving community.
Challenge Mode:
Short, hard scenarios that test planning under pressure.
Free Build Mode:
Sandbox play without goals or resource limits.
Campaign Mode:
Planned for full release — adds narrative and structured progression.
Strategy & Difficulty
Laysara: Summit Kingdom balances strategy with accessibility:
Deep logistical planning and optimization are pivotal.
Terrain constraints make expansion a puzzle-like challenge.
Finance and workforce management are core survival factors.
The game has been praised for its unique vertical design and atmosphere, though it may feel more strategic than traditionally “organic” city builders to some players.
