Borderlands 4

Borderlands 4 is the latest mainline entry in the long-running looter-shooter franchise by Gearbox Software and published by 2K.
It launched worldwide on 12 September 2025 for PC (Steam & Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
A version for Nintendo Switch 2 was planned, but it has reportedly been delayed.

In Borderlands 4 you crash-land on a brand new planet called Kairos, under the oppressive rule of a tyrant known as the Timekeeper. Players take control of one of four new “Vault Hunters,” each with unique abilities.
The game promises billions of weapons, a huge arsenal, and deep loot-chase mechanics — a hallmark of the Borderlands franchise.
Movement and traversal get a big upgrade: expect gliding, grgameling, dodging, double jumping — more verticality and mobility than many previous games in the series.
Skill trees and “Action Skills” give more customization and build variety for characters — meaning you can tailor your Vault Hunter’s abilities more precisely than before.

The developers have laid out a post-launch roadmap: free and paid content such as “Bounty Packs,” seasonal events, new story missions, new Vault Hunters, expansions, rotating vendors, weekly challenges, and more.
After the main story ends, there’s a robust “endgame” offering: a return of Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode, new specializations, weekly challenges, and “Invincible Bosses” — all designed for players looking for high-level loot and challenge.
Paid expansions are planned beyond 2025, including new story content and additional Vault Hunters, so the game is intended to grow and evolve well into 2026.

Good fit for you if you like —action-packed looter-shooter gameplay with lots of guns and chaotic mayhem,dynamic movement and traversal (if you enjoy verticality, speed, and mobility),
loot-chase, build-customization, and end-game grind,cooperative play or playing with friends (co-op is a big part of the experience).
Might not love it if you prefer —more methodical, story-driven, cinematic shooters (Borderlands is more about chaos and action than story realism),
