ARC Raiders is a third-person extraction shooter / PvPvE game developed and published by Embark Studios.It was officially released on October 30, 2025, on PC (Steam, Epic), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.The game uses the Unreal Engine 5, giving it modern visuals and technical features.
In ARC Raiders, you — as a “Raider” — venture from a subterranean society into a dangerous surface world overrun by hostile machines called “ARC,” scavenging loot, fighting enemies (both AI machines and rival players), and trying to extract safely.You can play solo or in small teams (up to 3 players) — and extraction mechanics + risk-reward decisions are core to the gameplay.

🎮 Gameplay, Mechanics & What You Do in the Game

PvPvE + Extraction / Looting Loop: Each run sends you “topside” (the surface) where you scavenge for resources, loot, and valuables — but there are deadly ARC-machines and other Raiders. If you die or fail to extract, you risk losing what you gained. Successfully extracting lets you bring loot back to the underground base (called “Speranza”).

Crafting & Progression: Back in Speranza, you can sell loot, craft or upgrade weapons/gear, and unlock skills. There is a skill-tree system with branches like “Survival,” “Mobility,” and “Conditioning,” letting you tailor your Raider’s playstyle.

Varied Combat — PvE + PvP: Threats come from both AI-controlled ARC machines (with different behaviors and danger levels) and human players (other Raiders). That mix gives tension: you never know whether danger comes from environment, AI, or other players.

So far, ARC Raiders has had a strong launch and initial reception:

On launch day, the game reportedly hit over 260,000 concurrent players on Steam — a strong showing, especially given its premium price (versus free-to-play model many expected).

Most reviews from early players are positive — as of now, Steam shows an “Very Positive” rating from many thousands of users.
